Carmel Said was born in Malta and moved to London in his early twenties to study Fine Art at Loughborough University, and subsequently at the Royal College of Art. Following his training, he developed into a prestigious scenic artist, eventually founding his company, Scenic Sets, that works with high profile clients in commercials, television and film.

Today, Carmel continues to develop his own fine-art practice independent of his commercial work. His art is a response to highly contemporary themes, explored and expressed in classical terms.
